Nautica financování from UniCredit Leasing for motorboats and sailboats

With its Nautica financování product, UniCredit leasing has become a pioneer in the area of financing motorboats and sailboats on the Czech market. The growing segment of boat sales was in need of simple access to financing of this commodity which would not bring limitations on, for example, the use of financed vessels in EU waters. Nautica financování brings significant savings due to the possibility to reduce the VAT rate to as low as 6% of a vessel’s price and can be used for boats operated in the Czech Republic and abroad.

In recent years, the growing demand of Czech citizens to purchase motorboats or sailboats has been hindered by the possibility to obtain financing from foreign sources. It was relatively complicated for potential buyers to gain financing from, for example, Austrian banks or from financial institutions in Croatia. “New owners often encountered restrictions on places where they could sail. However, our financing doesn’t have this disadvantage; the client can sail in all waters around Europe,” said Jaroslav Jaroměřský, COO of UniCredit Leasing.

To realise Nautica financování, UniCredit Leasing is using the firm Locat Leasing, a partner company in UniCredit Group. Locat Leasing is number one on the Italian market in the area of financing yachts and leisure boats. The Italian model of leasing enables using the advantage of reducing the VAT rate to as low as 6% of the purchased vessel’s price. Reduction of the VAT rate depends on the overall length of the boat. “We usually process financing within five business days and the buyer pays a down payment of 30-35% at the beginning of the financing term. Clients conclude a contract for a period of 5-7 years and at the end of the leasing term take the boat into their personal ownership upon paying the remaining price in the amount of 1% of the vessel’s cost,” adds Jaroslav Jaroměřský.

• Purchase price of the boat: EUR 700,000 excl. VAT, i.e. EUR 840,000 incl. 20% VAT
• Down payment 30%: EUR 226,800 incl. VAT (reduced VAT rate of 10% with leasing)
• Leasing term: 60 months (59 regular payments)
• Payment amount: EUR 10,646.64 incl. VAT (VAT 10%)
• Remaining 1%: EUR 8,400 incl. VAT (VAT 20%)
