UniCredit Leasing wins “Deal of the Year” award
In recognition of a leasing transaction with the City of Zagreb for low-level streetcar wagons in the amount of 158 million euros, UniCredit Leasing was awarded the “Deal of the Year” prize by “LeasingLife”, the renown UK-based leasing magazine.

The award was handed over to UniCredit Leasing group’s CEO, Regina Prehofer, on 11 December evening at a gala dinner at the hotel Le Plaza in Brussels. “The award honours the largest single leasing deal done so far in Central and Eastern Europe. I am pleased that UniCredit Leasing is the winner”, says Regina Prehofer.
In summer 2007, UniCredit Leasing’s Croatian subsidiary had signed a leasing contract with the City of Zagreb for 79 state-of-the-art, fully air-conditioned, low-level streetcar wagons delivered by the Croatian manufacturer Konèar. The duration of the contract is 120 months. “With this transaction, the City of Zagreb follows the trend to finance more and more high-volume projects in the infrastructure sector via leasing”, says Alexander Schmidecker, Head of CEE Markets at UniCredit Leasing.
